Privacy
This page covers mkbuilds.dev. MK Builds LLC is my company, and in this policy “I” means MK Builds LLC. I collect very little, and I say exactly what below.
When you send the contact form
I receive the answers you pick (what is taking too much of your week, what you run, how many people work there, and when you want it fixed), anything you type under Something else, your name, your email, and your company and website if you give them. I also keep the time you sent it.
To stop one sender flooding the form, I keep a one-way hash of your IP address and allow five messages from it an hour. The hash cannot be turned back into your address, and I do not store the address itself.
The message is saved in a database on Amazon Web Services in the United States, and a copy is emailed to me through Amazon’s email service. I am the only person who reads it. I use it to reply to you and for nothing else. I do not sell it or use it for advertising.
Needs a fact: how long contact messages are kept before they are deleted.
Analytics
I use PostHog, an analytics service, to count visits and see which pages lead people to get in touch. It only runs on the live site. It records:
- the pages you view and when you leave them,
- clicks on Book a call,
- whether the contact form was started, each step finished, whether it was sent, and whether the calendar opened,
- standard details your browser sends: browser, device, approximate location and the site that linked you here.
It does not record what you type into the form. It does not record your screen, and it does not track every click. I do not attach your name or email to these visits.
Booking a call
After the three questions, you can open a Google Calendar booking page. What you enter there goes to Google and to my calendar, and Google’s privacy policy covers it.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services. Like any web host, it may log standard request details such as IP address and browser for security and to keep the site running. I do not combine those logs with anything else to identify you.
Cookies
PostHog stores a random identifier in a cookie and in your browser’s storage, so a repeat visit is counted once. The cookie page has the details.
Your choices
Email me at mohamed@mkbuilds.dev to see what I hold about you or to have your message deleted. You can block cookies in your browser and the site still works.
Children
The site is for businesses and organizations. It is not aimed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If I change this policy, I update it here and change the date at the top.
